Specific Test Information:

  • mCLASS – DIBELS 8 / Lectura
    • K-4 students
    • Assessed three times a year
    • The State Board of Education chose this formative/diagnostic assessment to identify potential reading difficulties and inform instruction.
    • mCLASS DIBELS 8 assesses reading foundational essentials in the following areas: letter names, phonemic awareness, letter sounds, decoding, word reading, reading accuracy, reading fluency, basic comprehension, oral language, and vocabulary (depending on the grade level)
    • Both one to one administration and online format.
  • NC ENSI
    • North Carolina Early Numeracy Skill Indicator
    • K-4 students
    • Assessed three times a year
    • One to one administration
  • Beginning of Grade 3
    • 3rd grade students
    • State mandated assessment to gather baseline data in ELA for 3rd grade students.
    • Online format given in person
  • NC Check Ins
    • 3rd – 8th grade students
    • Given three times a year
    • Provides students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders with immediate in-depth action-data and a reliable estimate of students’ current performance on the selected sub-set of content standards
