“I moved to NC from NYC and I have been teaching for 7 years. My love for teaching began during my senior year of undergrad a Virginia State University, where I had the opportunity to student teach 2nd graders. I enjoy making people laugh, and making them feel welcomed. When I’m not teaching you can catch me on vacation or binge watching a show.”
“My name is Nancy Montenegro. I was born in the province of Victoria de Las Tunas, Cuba. My parents emigrated when I was two years old so I grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico and when I was 15 years old we moved to Miami, Florida where I graduated from high school. After taking several courses at the university I graduated as a certified nursing assistant. In 2021 I obtained my Montessori teacher certificate. I’m also a volunteer serving the community and teaching adults who do not know how to read and write so they can improve their lives. My greatest personal achievement and the one I enjoy the most is being a mother of two spectacular daughters who make my life more joyful. I enjoy being with my family. I love dogs, positive people, hiking, nature, traveling and of course, I love my job. Keep smiling.”
“I am from the happiest country in the world: Colombia, South America. This is my 9th year of teaching experience in North Carolina, but I have 17 years of experience as an educator. I have taught all elementary and middle grade levels from K through 8th and have thoroughly enjoyed each one of them. I joined the Casa team in August of 2021 and have loved being part of this great family. I have a Montessori Fundamental Certificate, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Languages: Spanish, English, and French. I’m currently working to obtain my license for K-6 grades. Last year, I was nominated for Best Teacher of the Year for Teachers of Tomorrow.
For parents who do not yet know me, I am a caring and enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to student development and the learning experience. I fell in love with Montessori Philosophy years ago when I had the opportunity to work at the Montessori Community School. I developed the Spanish program for K to 8th grade students, trying to follow the Montessori standards. I also have experience developing and writing curriculum using the North Carolina state standards while incorporating the Montessori philosophy in both English and Spanish. My goal for this year is to create a classroom environment that is fun, exciting, and enriching, and that we can work together for the best interest of your child. I am confident my educational background, experience, and passion for teaching will provide your child with a positive atmosphere for learning and growth.
A little bit about me: I’m married with no children. In my free time, I like to cook for my family. I’m a family-oriented person. I also love to travel and meet different people and discover new places. We are looking forward to a great school year.”

I like to study and learn new things.”
