ADMISSIONS

Our private preschool program focuses on teaching your child Montessori practical life skills such as care of self (ie. learning to wash one’s hands, getting dressed) care of the environment (ie. setting up and cleaning after snack and lunch, dusting the tables), and control of movement (walking in a line, learning to be silent) and getting them acquainted with Kindergarten routines. In our Montessori mixed-age classroom these students are in an environment with daily lessons, community circle time and work cycle time.

At Casa Esperanza we offer two programs with a different approach to learning the Spanish language.

In our Immersion program 90% of the core content curriculum is taught in Spanish, including language arts. Supplemental literacy instruction in English gradually increases by grade band. The goal is that once students reach 8th grade they are speaking, reading and writing in both languages 50% of the time.

In our Enrichment program core content curriculum is taught in English. Students also participate in weekly Spanish classes. The goal of the Enrichment program is to familiarize students with Spanish vocabulary, basic conversation and culture. Students who complete the Enrichment program will gain some limited conversational Spanish, not fluency.

Preschool Admission Requirements

In order to be considered for admission, preschool children, ages 3 through 5 years old, should be completely toilet trained, able to independently clean themselves in all areas associated with the bathroom, able to dress themselves with minimal adult assistance, and able to successfully separate from parents to fully function in the classroom with peers. Students that have continual accidents are not considered toilet-trained and therefore cannot remain in the program. Diapers and pull-ups are not permitted at Casa. Please include your registration fee with each application for preschool admission. Applications and fees (cash or check $150) must be dropped off at the front office.

Open Enrollment for 2024-2025 begins January 4, 2024!

If you are interested in enrolling your preschool-age child in our private preschool program, please fill out the application form below and submit it to the school with the registration fee. This fee is non-refundable once your child is accepted into the program.
