Parents

Our parent community make it possible for Casa to exist. You honor us by entrusting us with the education of your children, and your volunteer efforts make it possible for us to operate a secure, caring school community every single day of the school year. We encourage parents to be a part of their child's academic and social life at school, and we offer a variety of opportunities for families to learn and play together at Casa. Individual classrooms hold special parent education and social events throughout the school year.  Please check your school calendar and PFA bulletins for specific dates and times for the following, school-wide parent education/family event opportunities:

Volunteering

We are blessed at Casa to have extremely high volunteer participation. On average, 65% of our families volunteer regularly at school. We also benefit from strong community and faculty member volunteerism.

Research shows the strongest determiner of a child's success in school is involved family members. We encourage a strong sense of community and invite every family to contribute time to the school. There are many parent education opportunities, family events, and volunteer options at Casa Esperanza Montessori. If you would like to learn more about your child's school experience or help out at your school, keep reading!

Community Volunteer

If you are a member of the general community and would like to volunteer at Casa Esperanza Montessori, please contact the Executive Administrative Assistant, Wanda Medina, at wmedina@cemcs.org or 919.855.9811x427.

Classroom Volunteers

Your child's teacher (and your child) always appreciate your help in the classroom. If you would like to help in your child's classroom for regular

activities, material making, special projects, or substitute teaching, please contact the classroom room parent or your child's teacher. Sign-up lists

are in the front office for volunteer opportunities in every classroom; you may also call the front office to sign up for volunteer positions

919.855.9811.

Literacy Volunteers (in English and Spanish)

Our teachers teach our students to read, but we use volunteers for a variety of additional literacy activities, for which we provide the training and the materials. Some of these literacy activities are in small group settings, others are in tutorial settings. If you would like to assist with this type of volunteering in English or Spanish, please contact our Language Studies Coordinator, Leila Wheless at lwheless@cemcs.org, 919.855.9811.

All volunteers sign a statement permitting criminal background checks prior to beginning their volunteerism

if their volunteer activities include time spent alone with students.

Casa Esperanza has a very active Parent Faculty Association. We are proud of our positive working relationship with the Casa faculty. Our main

goal is to support our teachers, staff, and students. We encourage a strong sense of community and encourage every family to contribute time to

the school. There are many volunteer options.

Meetings

Our PFA meets the second Tuesday of every month, August-May, at 7:00 p.m. at the school. The PFA Executive Board meets the same night from 6:15-7:00 p.m. Joining the PFA is not a requirement for supporting the school, although joining allows you to hold office and vote. There is no fee to join the PFA.
